Watching Random Acts of Kindness at the Mundrabilla Roadhouse

We left Cocklebiddy early this morning and it’s been overcast and threatening to rain all day but thank fully it’s not been as wet as the last few days.

I had a good and reasonable easy 91km ride into Madura before having a short break at Madura Pass which has spectacular panoramic views of the coastal plains. From where we standing we were looking straight off a cliff that dropped 200 meters into a basin below.

From Madura Pass we basically followed the basin for another 115km, passing lots of West Red Kangaroos along the way before reaching Mundrabilla where we are staying tonight at the Mundrabilla Roadhouse. The owners here have kindly provided us with a cabin and powered site, so we’re looking forward to sitting back and tuning into Random Acts of Kindness on Channel 9.

For the benefit of those who may be reading the blog for the first time tonight after learning about my journey on Random Acts of Kindness – welcome – I hope that I have caught your attention and that through my efforts you will be inspired to make a donation and help me reach my $1 million fundraising target for childhood cancer research. We have raised almost $260,000 to date and although we still have a long way to go, I am determined that we will get there with the support of the Australian public.

I have now been on the road for 59 days after leaving Sydney on Friday 29 May. The journey has been grueling and exhausting but every time I read the messages of support coming in from friends and strangers alike, or hear of the generous donations that are being made I remember why I decided to embark on this ambitious challenge and it gives me the motivation I need to keep going.

Tomorrow we will be crossing the border from Western Australia into South Australia and heading towards the Great Australian Bite. This will be another major milestone in the journey achieved – 59 days down and 33 to go!

Today is the first time in about 700km that we have had enough reception to send through photos and videos, so you can catch up on our activities from the last few days in the post below.
